Red Dirt Artist's Editions (Black Friday 2025)
For Black Friday 2025, we are making our collection of Artist's Editions from our entire catalog — Red Dirt, The Motel Cowboy Show and Red Dirt Unplugged — available for a rare printing. These editions were pre-sale specials created in partnership with the artists and intended for diehards and lifelong fans.
This special print run is priced at $35, lower than these editions' original retail values, and is available through the 2025 Black Friday weekend. The cutoff for orders is 5 p.m. Eastern on Monday, December 1, 2025 to ensure arrival by December 23 in the U.S. Each book will be signed by the author.
The Red Dirt Artist's Editions, released in September 2020, were the capstone editions of Red Dirt, each dedicated to a different artist and featuring 20-page bonus chapters that made these the definitive collector's editions of this book. The chapters feature never-before-seen interviews, concert reviews and photography showcasing the very best of artists central to the story of Red Dirt.

About Red Dirt:
Red Dirt tells the story of a roots music scene that grabbed a foothold in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and spread across the country. The scene took roots in the late 1970s as an outlet for college-town hippies. The scene gave rise to Garth Brooks, who credits it with helping his early rise to prominence. Later, The Great Divide, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and the Stragglers and Stoney LaRue rose from the scene to become regional stars, including a major record deal for The Divide and Ragweed. They were followed by the Turnpike Troubadours, who carried the scene to its highest heights in the late 2010s. Using exclusive interviews and unprecedented access to the artists themselves, Red Dirt tells their story. The book also explains how key relationships with non-Red Dirt artists like Reckless Kelly, Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen helped Red Dirt gain acceptance and immense popularity across Texas, which claims a burgeoning original-music scene of its own.
